What is the boy ?

It is a cyclical climate phenomenon that causes havoc worldwide, being the most affected South America and the areas between Indonesia and Australia , thereby causing the warming of the South American waters.
What is the origin of the phenomenon of El Niño ?
Its name refers to the Christ child , because the phenomenon occurs around Christmas time in the Pacific Ocean, the oste South American coast . The name of the phenomenon El Niño Southern Oscillation , ENSO in English. It is a syndrome with more than 7 millennia of occurrence.

How is the boy detected?

In the tropical Pacific Ocean "El Niño" is detected by different methods , ranging from satellites and buoys floating to sea level analysis , obtaining important data on the conditions on the surface of the ocean. For example , the buoys measure temperature , currents and winds in the equatorial band , transmit this information to researchers worldwide .

How is the boy develops ?

The phenomenon began in the tropical Pacific Ocean near Australia and Indonesia , thereby altering the atmospheric pressure in widely separated areas , there are changes in the direction and speed of winds as well as the displacement of the zones rain to the tropics.

Under normal conditions , also called No - Niño conditions , the trade winds ( blowing from east to west ) you stack a lot of water and heat in the western part of the ocean. Surface sea level is therefore about half a meter higher in Indonesia than off the coast of Peru and Ecuador . In addition , the difference in sea surface temperature is around 8 º C between the two parts of the Pacific .

Cold temperatures are presented in South America by climbing the deep waters and produce a nutrient-rich water that keeps the marine ecosystem. - No Child Under relatively humid and rainy areas are located southeast Asia, while in South America is relatively dry .

However during El Niño the trade winds weaken or stop blowing, high sea temperature shifts to the Peru Current is relatively cool and low sea temperature shifts to Southeast Asia. This causes increased air pressure in Southeast Asia and South America decreased . All this change occurs at an interval of six months, roughly from June to November.

Consequences of the phenomenon of children globally

Changing atmospheric circulation.
Global warming and rise in temperature of coastal waters in recent decades .
There are species that do not survive the temperature change and die , causing economic loss in primary activities
Diseases such as cholera , which is sometimes very difficult tranfoman eradicate epidemics arise .
Implications for Southeast Asia
Low rainfall .
Ocean cooling .
Low cloud formation.
Very dry periods .
High atmospheric pressure.
Consequences of El Niño for South America
Heavy rains.
Heating of the Humboldt Current and Peru Current .
Fishing losses.
Heavy cloud formation.
Very wet periods .
Low atmospheric pressure.
In our country the El Niño causes major changes in climate , causing ocean warming , drought conditions in central Mexico , heavy rains in parts of the country and usually wet winters.
